An ACEO is like a poem: tiny and elliptical. A full-sized watercolour is like a novel: it tells the whole story. This little painting is is short story. These flamboyant tulips with their expansive gestures were too large to be restricted to a tiny card-sized painting.

Yellow, red and blue: the three primaries at their springtime best.
