Last month I went home to Canada for ten days. An unusually early spring had already begun in Holland. Not so on Prince Edward Island. It was so cold outside that one morning, it was only 6 degrees in the house before there was a roaring fire going in the big wood furnace downstairs.
And yet, the light was starting to change, the sun making blue shadows on the snow. The ice flowers on the window weren’t the only flowers looking out over the snowy landscape.

1 Comments:
Only yesterday the grass started to turn green in PEI, Eastern Canada, and the little spring peeper frogs (Pseudacris crucifer crucifer) raised their lovely voices for the second day, albeit somewhat muted yet.
In some roadside ditches there's still 'rotting' snow if the sun can't reach it.
I feel like visiting Holland, longing for a real spring with flowers and green shades. Nature looks so drab here in comparison.
Love,
Hermangt
